By installing or using LinkedIn Message Assistant (“the Extension”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Extension.
Description of Service
LinkedIn Message Assistant is a browser extension that:
- Helps you draft responses to LinkedIn messages using AI
- Summarizes LinkedIn conversations
- Provides quick-access message templates
Requirements
To use this Extension, you need:
- Google Chrome browser (or Chromium-based browser)
- A LinkedIn account
- An API key from Anthropic and/or OpenAI (for AI features)
Your Responsibilities
API Keys
- You are responsible for obtaining and managing your own API keys
- You are responsible for any costs incurred from API usage
- Keep your API keys secure; do not share them
Compliance
Content
- You are solely responsible for the messages you send on LinkedIn
- AI-generated suggestions are just that—suggestions. Review before sending.
- Do not rely on AI for sensitive, legal, medical, or financial advice
Intellectual Property
- This Extension is open source software licensed under the MIT License
- You may use, modify, and distribute it according to that license
- “LinkedIn” is a trademark of LinkedIn Corporation. This Extension is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by LinkedIn.
Disclaimers
“AS IS” Provision
THE EXTENSION IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
No Guarantees
We do not guarantee that:
- The Extension will work with future versions of Chrome or LinkedIn
- LinkedIn’s website structure won’t change (breaking functionality)
- AI providers will remain available or maintain current pricing
- Generated responses will be accurate, appropriate, or error-free
Third-Party Services
We are not responsible for:
- The availability or performance of Anthropic, OpenAI, or LinkedIn services
- Changes to third-party APIs, pricing, or terms
- Content generated by AI providers
Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE DEVELOPERS OF THIS EXTENSION BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
- Account suspension or termination by LinkedIn or AI providers
- API costs exceeding your expectations
- Any damages arising from your use or inability to use the Extension
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the developers of this Extension from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:
- Your use of the Extension
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any third-party rights or terms of service
Modifications
We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
Termination
You may stop using the Extension at any time by uninstalling it from your browser.
We reserve the right to discontinue the Extension at any time without notice.
Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Severability
